About

Laura Tulumbas Juell loves teaching; unleashing a quality of playfulness in her students, leaving them empowered, strong and loving themselves. Laura dedicates herself to yoga by creating an environment that allows her students to grow, live their truth, and expand and open their hearts.

A student of yoga for the past 14 years, she is a Certified Anusara® yoga teacher. Coming to the practice of Anusara yoga has allowed Laura to find her voice and develop a teaching style that reflects her open heart.  She is grateful to all of the teachers that have played a part in leading her along this path especially John Friend, Dr. Douglas Brooks, Amy Ippoliti, Elena Brower, Naime Jezzeny , Sianna Sherman, Ross Rayburn and Mitchel Bleier.

"It is all about self-love. It starts by taking care of yourself; nourishing and embracing everything that you are, and moving forward from there. I want to create a place for people to have fun in their bodies, honoring themselves, reconnecting to the light that shines within them," says Laura of her approach to teaching yoga.

Laura is a native New Yorker, and currently lives in Queens with her beloved Christopher and their 2 sons Luke and Maxwell.
About Jalaka
Jalaka(say JAAlaka), meaning a small net, a run of tears down your face, a lattice of flowers, a small collected batch of anything like a string of jewels, a window.

The word itself is evocative and inspires thought.  This is always my intention.   To inspire and to create a space where you can explore the abundance & potency that you hold, right here and now, in your body, heart and mind.   The image of tears begs the question; are they tears of joy or sorrow?  Anything that brings you to tears is most likely worthy of your attention and time.  Are you giving yourself the time and attention you require?  Are you being generous with yourself?  Where are you placing value and what do you want?  Simply stated, your actions, thoughts, ideas and way of being in the world matter, you imprint consciousness by where you choose to place your attention.  Enter the conversation of your heart, align with your deepest desires, gather together the things that matter most; this is your yoga.

We assign value and place our attention in the places where we want to cultivate & grow our experience. We engage this practice to become more adept, more skilled at what we are already doing; living, being in the body, heart and mind.  Each time we return to our practice we have the sweet and sublime opportunity to engage again, to move to the depths of our presence and reveal that which lies concealed in the darkness, in the unknown fortress of our inner being. We are always shifting, changing, transmuting, we return to the mat each time with a slightly altered, shifted vision and yet we are always ourselves.  The time you offer yourself provides the space to explore the many pathways to your radiant heart and then back into the world.  Taking the time and opportunity to play on the mat will clear the pathways of the body, infusing the heart and mind with a renewed sense of being, rejuvenated and offering you the full experience of what it is to be you; igniting your potency & revealing the ecstatic joy, the bliss that is the core of your being.
